Typologies - Fifty Fifty
I’ve been particularly enjoying Noah Kalina’s Substack recently, and his latest post “Newsletter #155 - I am not on vacation” features what look like three great photographic typologies - Protect The Network, The River, Normal Houses.
As a photographer, one of my favourite things is repeating patterns in life - there is novelty and excitement in the new, and comfort and familiarity in the old - and finding subjects with a visual connection can be a challenge, fun, intriguing or easy exercise to indulge in.
“Easy” is certainly one of my favourites - and like Noah Kalina’s The River series, I enjoy revisiting the same viewpoint to record always starkly different images. My Fifty Fifty series of half sky half sea images gets added to at least weekly. No purpose, just joy in the ever changing world around me.
