Autumn and winter tends to herald more imaging for me.
Longer shadows, shorter days, the light is more interesting (at civilised times of day).
It can be dull. It can be wet. And cold. And dark.
But there is always light, and nature striving to reach it.
At ground level in mid summer, in my local Pepperscombe Woods, there is shadow and welcome shade from the sun.

As the leaves fall away in Autumn the forest floor opens up and sun breaks through the canopy.

I’m mourning the “Summer” of 2024, but anticipating Winter and all it brings.
